2019 Zone 2 Memorial RUn

 Hobsonville RSA.
This year the Auckland Hot Rod Club, Wheels Inc and Tamaki Rod and Custom Club were the combined hosts, It is to remember hot rodders who are no longer with us, and also to have a catch up with other clubs and chat with them.
Even though it was a chilly and wet day there was still a decent turn out of nice cars and people,Thanks to the Hibiscus Rodders members who braved the weather to represent our club.

CLUB MYSTERY RUN FOR PROSTATE CANCER  SEPT 15th

It was a great day out with the Hibiscus Rodders on the Prostate Cancer Mystery Cruise. 15 cars turned up, was great to see Rodney and Jo get the Ford out for a run. Definitely have a huge variety of cars in the club, from the old right up to the newer Mustangs, and lots of nice friendly people, enjoying something different. Bill and Willian Woods went all out with the blue theme down to event dying their hair blue and wearing a blue moustache, and even putting blue tinsel on the car, well done to you both, and everyone else wearing blue, it was really great seeing that people got into the spirit of the event. We made $300 for the Prostate Cancer Society which is really great, and very much appreciated. The run itself was just a bit of fun around the Whangaparaoa Peninsula, with answers to the questions going towards points, along with marbles, and guessing how many screws were in a jar. In the end, we had some winners, with Graham and Glenys getting all the questions right on the run sheet so they got the winners trophy. The winner of the points was Pete Stewart, second was, as they put on the sheet, the Twins, third was Shari and Vicki, and there was even a prize for last place with Denver and Zaire having the worst effort. Thanks to Shane and Louise for organising the food, there was definitely plenty to go round, was a good idea having fish, hot dogs and chips. I think that there were a few that did get a bit lost, but all in all, a great day out and thanks again to all of you that turned up to support the event. We have a great club, with lots of great people in it.

V8 Chics Vintage High Tea today was a fundraiser for us for our grant and we cruised over to Kumeu to the Chateau manufacturing jewellers where we spent an hour buying jewellery, getting some pieces fixed! Awesome place! Then back to mine for a Vintage High Tea lunch where we all ate too much and enjoyed a sit in the sun! Thank you V8Chics & Friends for a great day!
